When people think about Epiphany Community Services (ECS), they often think about evaluation support for community organizations. And while evaluation is certainly one of our core strengths, it’s only part of the story.

Over the years, we’ve partnered with organizations across the country to help them grow, adapt, and tell the story of their impact. What many people don’t realize is just how broad ECS’s support can be. Our team works behind the scenes to strengthen organizations, build capacity, and help communities create meaningful change.

Here are a few services that many people are surprised to learn we provide.

Organizational Development and Strategic Planning

Running a coalition or nonprofit organization can be complex. Leadership changes, new initiatives, and evolving community needs can make it difficult to stay focused and effective.

That’s where our organizational development services come in. We help organizations strengthen their structure, leadership, and long-term strategy so they can operate more effectively and sustainably. This can include strategic planning, leadership development, transition planning during staff changes, and strengthening coalition structures and roles.

Sometimes organizations simply need an outside partner who can help them step back, assess where they are, and chart a clear path forward. ECS provides that perspective.

Grant Assistance and Resource Generation

Securing funding is one of the biggest challenges community organizations face. Many people know us for evaluation support, but fewer realize that we also assist with grant preparation and funding strategies.

Our team works with organizations to strengthen the evaluation components of grant applications, develop compelling case statements, and identify new funding opportunities. We also help organizations implement systems to track and manage resources effectively, so funding can drive real impact in their communities. Lookback (Multi-Year Lookback Assessment)

Our Multi-Year Lookback Assessment is a structured review process designed to evaluate the impact and progress of work completed over several years. The assessment includes a review of past actions and activities, classification of those efforts within an established output framework, and analysis of relevant secondary data.

We also conduct both quantitative and qualitative data collection to better understand outcomes and community impact. Findings are then aligned with intended goals and outcomes, culminating in a comprehensive report and presentation that highlights key insights, progress, and opportunities for future improvement.

Program Evaluation

Our Program Evaluation Service helps organizations measure the effectiveness and impact of their programs through a structured evaluation process. This includes the development, review, and refinement of evaluation tools, monitoring fidelity to ensure programs are implemented as intended, and supporting tool implementation.

We assist with data collection, data entry, and analysis to generate meaningful insights. Findings are then compiled into clear reports and data presentations, along with ongoing support to help organizations understand and use their data to improve programs and outcomes.

Programs we have supported in the past or currently include Teen Institutes, Mental Health Awareness Training, and NJ4S (New Jersey Statewide Student Support Services).

Data Collection and Data-Driven Decision Making

Data can be powerful—but only if it’s organized, understood, and used effectively.

ECS helps organizations collect meaningful data through surveys, community assessments, and program tracking. We also support organizations in using technology platforms (such as Reach) and customized data systems to visualize their progress and demonstrate their impact.

With the right data tools, organizations can make smarter decisions, communicate their successes, and demonstrate accountability to funders and stakeholders.

Training and Capacity Building

One of our favorite parts of our work is helping organizations build their internal capacity.

We offer training and technical assistance to help coalition members, staff, and leaders better understand topics like evaluation, strategic planning, leadership development, and community engagement. These trainings help organizations build confidence and skills to lead their initiatives more effectively.

Our goal isn’t just to provide services—it’s to help organizations grow stronger from within.

Supporting Communities Nationwide

Since our founding, Epiphany Community Services has focused on helping community organizations navigate complex challenges with practical solutions. Our work supports organizations, nonprofits, schools, funders, and government agencies that are working to improve the health and well-being of their communities.

Many of the organizations we work with are doing incredible work on the ground. Our role is to help them organize their efforts, measure their progress, and tell the story of the change they are contributing to.

Helping You Focus on What Matters Most

At the end of the day, our mission is simple: we help organizations solve complex problems so they can focus on their real work—serving their communities.

If you’ve worked with ECS before, you may already know some of these services. But if you’re new to Epiphany Community Services, you might be surprised at just how much support we can provide.

If your organization is looking for guidance in evaluation, planning, data, training, capacity building, or more, we’d love to start the conversation.

Because when communities succeed, we all succeed.
