Providing Clarity for Organizations

Strong organizations are built on a foundation of strong evaluation. Data-driven evaluation can both help organizations mitigate their weaknesses, and identify their strengths. At Epiphany Community Services, we strive to bring clarity to complex problems. Clarity can only come once you have evaluated your plans, actions, and processes to identify where you are now – and where you want to go.

Collaborative Evaluation

Our evaluation services are designed to help your coalition align actions to desired outcomes and to help you see what is working and what isn’t. We work with you – collaboratively – to find ways for you to leverage technology for the benefit of your organization and the communities that you serve.

Help Refining Your Logic Model

When you make a plan, you want to be sure that it will help you achieve the outcomes you desire. A logic model demonstrates the underlying theory of change. It can be the road map that ensures you get where you want to go. When conducting evaluations of your coalition, you can use a logic model to give a graphic depiction of how your activities, outputs, resources and outcomes are related to the behaviors you plan to change. Don’t worry if you are not an expert at creating logic models – our team is here to provide the knowledge and guidance required to create a logic model that works for you.

Technology Tools to Track Your Progress

One of the great things about modern technology is that it allows organizations to collect useful data. We use advanced technology to help organizations track outputs, processes, and programs. Our online tool enables your organization and collaborators to collect the data needed to effectively evaluate your organization and the various projects you are engaged in. Our online tool, REACH, helps your team keep track of what’s important with minimal paper and staff dedication.

Improved Focus on Specific Outcomes

Every coalition has its own methods and approaches for helping the communities it serves. There is no specific requirement for how much work your organization does that is focused on defined outcomes. We respect and defer to your desired approach. However, we do believe that around 60% of your organization’s efforts should be related to outcomes you have defined. By trying to keep the majority of your activities outcome-focused, you know that your organization is creating the changes needed by the communities you serve.

Getting the Dose Right

Like medicine, interventions can vary in strength. Sometimes, you are better off with a lighter dose. At ECS, we seek to help you determine the strength of the dose so you can allocate your organization’s efforts correctly. There are five types of outputs we examine in relation to your logic model, including:

• Community Action
• Community Change
• Services Provided
• Resources Generated
• Media

Identifying Ways to Improve Over Time

An organization cannot go into a community and foster change immediately. Improvement is a continual process that takes time and commitment.  As an expert in evaluation, ECS is able to view organizations and communities with an objective eye. When brought together, ECS and the organization are both able to observe and create practical solutions to achieve the best outcomes.
